MESC Features The Museum of Contemporary Art: Viewing Contemporary Art Through VTS

The Museum of Contemporary Art, 250 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Join MESC for a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art to meet with the educators who facilitate Contemporary Art Start, the museum's year-long partnership with 3rd-12th grade teachers and their students across California.

Thursday, October 22, 2026 | 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Spend the afternoon with the MOCA Education Department as they walk you through a typical school tour at their downtown Grand Avenue location. Enjoy a firsthand look at Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) in action, a student-centered, discussion-based pedagogy that invites inquiry, community building, and collaboration.

If you've ever been curious about MOCA's school site visits and tours, practicing VTS, or are just interested in discussing art and exploring the galleries with educators in your community, join us on Thursday, October 22nd for art, learning, and fun!

Explore the museum's newly opened exhibitions, In These Times: Recent Acquisitions at MOCA and Alexander Apóstol, Regime: Dramatis Personae, on view until January 2027.

Discounted parking will be available.

Accessible via the Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill Station on the Metro E and A Line.
